Eager to Bring Hazard to Jovic, Madrid Ready to Break Transfer Records

Real Madrid are preparing to break a record purchase at the start of the season to fix a squad that has been disappointing throughout the season.

Reported by Marca, the management of Los Merengues will be busy hunting new players once the transfer market opens June 1. This was done so that Zinedine Zidane’s squad appeared competitive next season.

Madrid President Florentino Perez spent € 254 million to bring in eight players in 2009. Three of them are Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, and Karim Benzema.

This number is a big opportunity to pass this season. This refers to the expenditure of Madrid which has reached € 95 million only for Rodrygo (€ 45 million) and Eder Militao (€ 50 million).

Madrid’s transfer activity hasn’t stopped after the arrival of Rodrygo and Militao. The club is still trying to recruit other players who have names greater than wonderkid Santos and tough defender FC Porto.

Chelsea winger Eden Hazard is one of the names called to land at the Santiago Bernabeu. Madrid needs at least € 100 million for Hazard who will make the spending figure reach € 195 million.

In addition, Madrid is still working on the transfer of striker Eintracht Frankfurt, Luka Jovic, which is priced at € 60 million. If Hazard and Jovic join, Madrid’s total spending reaches € 255 million, surpassing player spending in 2009.

Purchasing a Madrid player will not stop there. Zidane is also eyeing Lyon defender, Ferland Mendy, who is valued at € 30 million and Paul Pogba (Man United) or Christian Eriksen (Tottenham Hotspur).

Madrid is indeed preparing a large budget to revamp the squad. This step was taken after the failure of Los Blancos won even one title this season.

Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk is reported to be the target of Real Madrid in the summer. As reported by Sports Mole from the US, the club nicknamed Los Blancos is considering winning the PFA Player of the Year title as a replacement for Sergio Ramos. Ramos is reportedly upset about his future with Real Madrid. The Spanish national team defender was even rumored to be having a fuss with the club president, Florentino Perez.

On the Liverpool side, of course they were reluctant to listen to any offer for Van Dijk. Because, since his move from Southampton last season, the Dutch defender became a key player in the defense of the Reds. With Van Dijk this season, Liverpool have been the least conceded in the Premier League. Their goal only conceded 22 goals.

Not only focusing on defense, Van Dijk also contributed to the goals created by Juergen Klopp’s team. Throughout the 2018-2019 season, the 193 cm player made six goals and four assists in all competitions. It feels like it’s impossible for Liverpool to release Van Dijk in the near future. Given, they also have not been able to break the fast of the English League title for 30 years.
